Planning Guides

What actually moves the price of wedding photography in Singapore — hours, second shooters, film, albums and travel — and what you are paying for beyond the day itself.
One of the first questions couples ask when planning their wedding is: “How much should we budget for wedding photography?” There isn’t one universal answer, because wedding photography packages in Singapore vary considerably depending on experience, coverage and deliverables.
4-hour wedding photography
Shorter coverage can work well for solemnisations, ROM ceremonies, intimate weddings, church ceremonies and small lunch celebrations. Rather than paying for an entire day, couples can focus photography coverage around the moments that matter most.
8–10 hour wedding photography
For traditional actual-day weddings, longer coverage is usually more suitable. It may include bridal preparation → gatecrash → tea ceremony → solemnisation → couple portraits → banquet. This allows your photographer to tell the wedding story rather than documenting only individual sections.
If you are mapping this out, my actual-day wedding timeline shows how those hours usually fall.

One photographer vs two
A single experienced photographer can cover many weddings successfully. However, two photographers are useful for larger celebrations, or when the bride and groom are preparing at separate locations.
Photography + videography
Photography freezes individual moments. Film preserves something different — the voices, movement, speeches, laughter and atmosphere. For couples who value both, combining photography and videography creates a more complete record.
Albums
Digital photographs are wonderful, but I still believe wedding photographs deserve to exist physically. There is something completely different about sitting together years later and opening your wedding album.
Destination wedding photography
Destination wedding costs may additionally include flights, accommodation, ground transportation, travel days, permits and additional crew requirements. Always ask your photographer for a transparent quotation.
What are you actually paying for?
A wedding photographer’s work doesn’t end when the wedding finishes. Behind every wedding are hours of preparation, equipment maintenance, backups, image selection, colour correction, retouching, gallery creation and delivery.
A photographer’s note. Set your priorities before dividing your wedding budget. Ask yourselves: “Which parts of our wedding will still matter to us ten or twenty years from now?” For many couples, photographs become one of those things.
Once you know roughly what you want to spend, the harder question is who to spend it with — ten things worth checking before you book.
